New Zealand-born artist known primarily for his experimental films and kinetic sculpture. i was watching his animations on youtube and this one in particular inspired me, it gave me the idea to create an animation depicting growth, but more linked to reacting to music.

I've been researching methods to create animation and iv chosen to work with stop motion and digital animation because iv already had some experience in stop motion and I've always wanted to try animation software to create cool effects. Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro look like the best software for handling stop motion and digital effects.

An English music producer and remix artist, who is known both as a solo act and as a member of the London-based band The xx. This particular track grabbed my attention due to the simplistic yet informative video animation where the shapes react and distort along with to song, this has inspired me to possibly work in animation.

A French producer i found on youtube, he creates his own style of chilled abstract hiphop-like beats and in this particular track, made a music video depicting the performance of the song on the instruments, then pans out to reveal mannequin arms. his work has inspired me to create my own track with the possibility of a video too.

Sound Project Intro. . .

For this project i've chosen to work with sound, and how sound is perceived and portrayed in the world through how things react to it. i will be exploring this through a range of media, but i will be experimenting more with animation due to me always having an interest in it but never tried it myself. i will also be working on abstract sound production because I've been producing for over 5 years now and i want to expand into different experimental genres of music. so I'm excited to see where this project will take me. . .
